On Thursday, the life of the iconic painter Andrej Rublijow is being screened at the Breitenseer Lichtspiele. Austrian actor Hubsi Kramar uses one of Russia’s most notable artists to help us navigate the country’s tumultuous past . Religion, a life crisis and a prolonged state of uncertainty are what defined Andrej’s life, but he managed to work through it all with the help of his brush. Don’t worry, the ending isn’t as anti-climatic as that last line.
