What do Nirvana, Wolf Alice, PJ Harvey, Soundgarden, the Strokes and Radiohead all have in common? They’ve all been influenced by Pixies (the band that is, not the little behatted fellas you find at the bottom of your garden, although maybe them too). This review took us several hours to write, what with causing us to dive into a Spotify wormhole of their greatest hits: ‘Debaser’, ‘Wave of Mutilation’, ‘Monkey Gone to Heaven’…tell you what, can you just go and see them so we can get back to listening to them, alright?
Recommended if you like: Rock legends, one of the most influential bands alive, Grunge, Surf-Rock, Alternative Rock, trying to walk away at the end of the gig and finding the beer has stuck your shoes to the ground, musicians that know their shit
