A New Year’s celebration like in 1001 nights
Loveball 2019 – Aladdin
Entry: 24€ standard, 69€ VIP, buy a ticket
This annual legendary event at the WUK is definitely on our list of interesting places to celebrate New Year’s Eve. The Loveball is celebrating its seventh anniversary, and this year the theme is all about Aladdin. The WUK will be turned into an oriental palace for the night and, who knows, perhaps you’ll be lucky and find a genie to grant you a wish (or maybe even three) for the New Year. Obviously that would involve some rubbing, but we don’t have to tell you that.
Party in the park on NYE @ this double-club soiree
Where: Pratersauna & VEEiPEE
Two of the most popular clubs in town, Pratersauna & VIEiPEE, will host a massive New Year’s Eve party again this year so we certainly hope you’ve been working on your new dance moves. Pro tip: the butterfly, the running man, and the Macarena are all socially unacceptable. Don’t even think about it. There will be 5 floors boasting various international and local artists spinning beats of the Electro variety to get you movin’ and groovin’.
Swing into the new year on a ship
Entry: 20€, buy a ticket
Everybody’s favourite floating restaurant/ bar (seriously, it’s a restaurant on a boat on the Donaukanal) will be swinging and bobbing about as a whole bunch of people on board go nuts on the dance floor. It’s all about Swing music at this NYE party at Badeschiff. Well, it’s a little bit about doing some winter drinking too. On the Punsch-deck (which is up on the top deck in the open air), Punsch and Glühwein will be served from 10pm onwards. Meanwhile, the DJs will be dishing you up some dance-worthy tunes to let loose to inside. This one is for those that love to dance and swing into the new year with style. Be sure to dress to impress!
Salsa your way into 2020
Where: Mi Barrio
Entry: 59€ with a pre-sale ticket, 75€ at the door
The Latin American restaurant/bar, Mi Barrio, is having a special New Year’s Eve party that will combine a rich and tasty buffet with a Latin Salsa Party (wear your pretty dancin’ shoes!). Starting at 7pm, you’ll be wining and dining, and mentally prepping for a dance party that will keep you dancing all night. This party will involve 2 dance floors of Salsa, Latin and Party Mix music, and to keep your energy up, there will be a traditional Caribbean soup served at midnight! Go LOCO!
Celebrate 2020 the Italian way
Where: Dachboden @ 25HOURS Hotel
Entry: 109€, make your reservation at the hotel reception
Mamma mia! Another year is over and it’s time to celebrate the dawn of the next one in style. For all the Italy lovers out there we recommend this party at the rooftop bar of the 25 Hours Hotel. The entry price includes an aperitivo, antipasti, panettone and a drink at midnight to toast the New Year. There’s an Italo-Pop band as well as a DJ playing, so you can expect a lot of amore and passione! Oh, and don’t forget to put on some red underwear because in bella Italia this is a typical custom and it brings good luck. Well, it can’t hurt to try!
Party 2019 out the door with 5 floors of music and dancing
Where: The Loft
Entry: 10€ < 11:45pm > 12€
The Loft is bringing the heat to this cold NYE with a 5-floor club night. The music will be out of the 2010s, 2000s and 90s, along with some Power Disco thrown in with each floor dedicated to something different. This party will have you hopping from one dance floor to the next until you hop right into 2020. That’s a lot of hopping, we know, but we promised you this party would bring the heat and hopping raises your body temperature… so start hopping!
Celebrate the New Year at this D’n’B and Reggae party
Where: Camera Club
Together with the crew from Switch! and Vienna Tun Up, you can celebrate the New Year at Camera Club. On 2 floors, you’ll find Drum’n’Bass and Reggae & Dancehall music blasting out of the speakers. Get your party pants on, and get on it.
Party through the night with the guys from Beat It
In the mood for some D’n’B for your New Year’s Eve party? The collective, Beat It, has been bringing Drum and Bass in all shapes and sizes to Vienna for over a decade now. So they know how to throw a good party with some good D’n’B music at Flex. In the Café, you can expect Techno, 80s, 90s, 2000s, remixes, mashups and House.
One last effing good rave party to end the year
Where: Fluc + Fluc Wanne
They want you to carry the torch into 2020. The party torch, we’re assuming. Does anybody actually know what they mean by that? We don’t, but who cares. It will be effing amazing this party as the Meat Market parties normally are. Turn up early to the party or you’ll end up in a huge queue (that might ruin the mood, just sayin’). And yes, Meat Market is a party for all, including boys who like boys who like girls who like girls, and so on.
11 hours of eating, drinking and dancing
Where: Heuer am Karlsplatz
Entry: Free! Reserve a table
The stylish bar, Heuer, is having a New Year’s Eve special event this year that will involve sparkle, excitement, champagne, and lots of confetti (what’s a NYE bash without confetti?). From 3pm to 2am, there will be a DJ on the decks, culinary snacks served up, dinner à la carte and champagne for everyone. And be sure to class yourself up a little for this one.
Disappear into a banging party at Forelle and only emerge at 11am
Where: Grelle Forelle
Entry: free < 12:30am > 15€
The underground club by the Donaukanal is known for putting on quite the part-ay for New Year’s and this year they’ve got a night of quality DJs in the cards for those who love dancing to Electro beats in the dark. Amongst the DJs are the best of the best local collectives, and the beats will be blaring until 11am the next morning.
Party into 2020 at the garden…the Volksgarten that is.
The Volksgarten’s New Year’s Eve party is a big deal most years. It’s a favourite for many reasons – the club knows how to throw a mega party over their 3 floors, it’s in prime position to get a good view of the midnight fireworks, and well, they typically recruit DJs that know how to keep you going until the early morning. So if you’re wanting to party hard in a club that’ll will have a guaranteed lively crowd, this party is for you. Oh, and if you can commit, buy a ticket before as it’s cheaper, and you won’t have to wait in the line. Check out the Facebook page for details.
Welcome back the twenties in style
Where: Das Bootshaus
Entry: 159€, get a ticket
A century after it passed, the twenties are about to return. In honour of the occasion, Das Boothaus is throwing a New Year’s celebration dedicated to the legendary Jay Gatsby and the golden era of Swing and Charleston. Travel back in time and step into the glamorous life of a millionaire for one night, standing at the pier with a glass of champagne in hand, watching the fireworks over the water. And so we beat on, boats against the current…
Disco and Techno club night to see you into 2020
Entry: 10€ < 12am > 15€
You’ll spend your night going nuts over 3 floors if you turn up at HORST for New Year’s Eve. There doesn’t seem like anything special happening for the big bang of a night, but HORST is a good option for those that just want a normal night out partying until they’re regretting it the next morning.
Party at Club Titanic
Where: Club Titanic
At Club Titanic, they’ll be partying through the night and well into the morning this New Year’s Eve. On 2 floors, there will be Hip Hop & RnB sounds, and DJ Schoko will be on the decks for the night.
Dance into the new year…and then some more
Entry: 14€ < 12am > 16€
You’re going to need some stamina for this New Year’s party at Weberknecht. That is, if you wanna see it through to the end. Starting at 8pm there’s two floors where numerous DJs will keep you on your feet until noon the next day. If our calculations are correct, that makes at least 16 hours of celebration but, theoretically, it’s open-end. If for any reason you want to take a break from dancing, you’ll find a chill-out and a shopping area. And then you can go back to partying on, and on, and on, and…
Keep it low-key at this NYE party
When: TUE, December 31, 6pm–4am
Looking for a smaller NYE party in a cozy atmosphere? Then head over to the WerkzeugH which is opening its restaurant for you to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a more relaxed way than at other, more overcrowded places. Enjoy live music and a small selection of tasty snacks at moderate prices; from 8-10€ you can get your hands on some freshly baked homemade Krapfen for just 1€. If that’s not an argument to check it out, there’s nothing or no-one who can inspire you to go anywhere.
Take a wild ride into 2020 at this party in the U4
The good old veteran club, U4, is offering up a NYE that will set the stage for some heavy petting and gyrating on the dance floor. On two floors, DJs will be spinning beats of the Hip Hop, Chart Hits, R&B and Electro variety and free sparkling wine will be flowing at midnight. Cocktails for 5€ (only until midnight) will help you welcome 2020 like a one night stand – with a lot of alcohol in your blood and confidence it will, at the very least, start out fun.
