With cheesy, chunky and flavour-packed burgers, burritos and quesadillas, Burger’s Bar, delivers on exactly what you want when you think of a place for messy food with friends.
Burger’s Bar takes you right out of Vienna and into more of a typical Brooklyn-style, burger joint.
The place shouts, “look at me, I’m new and this is where all the cool kids hang out.”
Set in a very industrial, bare-bones atmosphere with the upstairs section covered in graffiti that bounces off the walls, the Burger’s Bar boasts a buzzing and good times vibe.
We started things off with a Louisiana-style Jambalaya, in which the pillar ingredients are rice and chorizo, but the Burger’s Bar version indulgently throws in prawns and chicken, as well.
They also offer a variety of salads, but to be honest, this place encourages living the good life and letting it all hang out so we forwent the healthy stuff and opted for their Ranchero quesadilla. The tortilla cut into triangles is filled with a generous serve of spicy chicken and beef ragout, cheddar cheese, guacamole and jalapeños.
If quesadillas aren’t your thing, dive into one of their burritos, or, of course, one of their uproariously good burger creations.
They don’t hold back when it comes to creating these towers of patty and bun power. No matter which one you choose from their standard and gourmet burger menu, you can be sure of two things: yes, it will messy and you’ll be in need of a pile of serviettes, and yes, you’ll have trouble fitting the burger beasts into your mouth.
They pride themselves on only using the best meat and their fresh brioche buns are the perfect frame for the fillings.
Apart from the classics, like Sloppy Joes, and a Cheese Burger packing lava-like melting cheddar cheese, they offer monsters they’ve come up with on their own, like the, “Up to a million” that comes with a warning of ‘extreme scharf’ and ‘order at your own risk.’ Then there’s the Ultimate MAC & Cheese burger, stuffed with – yep, you guessed it – plenty of cheese, macaroni and a beef patty.
This is what makes Burger’s Bar stand out from the other places that have popped up since the burger mania has swept over Vienna – they’re unashamedly obsessed with coming up with outrageous burgers that will think again what can be created between a brioche bun.
If you’re in search of an all-out feast, this is the place to go. We recommend making no additional plans after this as you’ll be feeling properly satisfied and ready to take a nap, depending on whether you got stuck into their beer & cocktail menu, or not.
We’re happy to see The Belgium brew, Leffe, and the Dutch delight, Hoegaarden, on the beer side of things (vom fass sogar), and couldn’t decide which one to have – so we just had one of each – OOPS.
For the wine-lovers out there, the list contains some local favourites and their cocktail menu is also rather affordable.
