8 spots to play beach volleyball in Vienna

We’re not sure if it’s the fact that we get to wear beach wear in the middle of the city, the short shorts, the topless guys, or the bikini and sand working its way up our bum cracks – but there’s nothing quite like gathering a group of friends and having a fierce battle royale on a beach volleyball court in summer.

Here are 8 spots to have some fun in the sand with a game of beach volley ball in Vienna – serve it up and spike it down!

Next to the Summerstage’s row of tasty open air restaurants on the Donaukanal (on the 9th district’s side), is a lonely little beach volleyball court for champions. Although it’s rare you’ll find this court empty, if you plan ahead, you can look forward to a night of a serious volleyball tournament, followed by drinks and a meal.

Trendsportzentrum Prater – Beach volleyball spots

Trendsportzentrum Prater is a little bit isolated, but that’s the charm of this place. You won’t have to worry about bumping into your boss who will ruin your mojo. And it also feels like you’re escaping the city for a little while. They also  offer up other beach sport alternatives such as beach tennis and paddle tennis, we particularly like how easy it is to reserve a court here. Just go onto their website and book in a time!

Plus: you are right in the park, so you can play to the sounds of nature, or bring your own music if the people around you don’t mind

Tip: Bring your own drinks out here, as there isn’t really any places to buy them when out here.
