A Cambridge Professor talks about feathers and the night
Vortrag: The Materiality of Night
When: SAT, December 16, 3pm–4pm
Where: Weltmuseum
Entry: Free, with valid museum ticket.
If we are totally honest, we had to ask ourselves if ‘Materiality’ was a real word, but then we realised it is a Cambridge Professor holding the talk this Saturday, and stuffed that thought back into our mouths before it could get out. And this professor’s name is posher than ours, so there’s that too. The good professor will be leading a talk on the history of the Tukanoan people’s relationship with the night and how they tried to make their Amazonian understanding of the Night and Day more tangible through objects.
Recommended if you like: design with vibrant colour, traveling, coordinating a whole room to do the Mexican wave, an excuse to wear your sombrero, Latin American culture, indeginous history, feathers in the night, feather boas
