The husband-and-wife team, Son of the Velvet Rat, produce songs that are a mix of Chanson, Neo-Folk, and Alternative. They left Austria for good to settle in California, where they produce their music. Every song is constantly changing in sound and mood, so their live concerts are very special. This Tuesday, they’ll present ‘Ghost Ranch,’ an album inspired by the Californian desert.

Listen up lovers of Viennese music – this is something for you! For over a month, you’ll have the chance to catch various live concerts as part of the Wean Hean festival.
It’s gonna take place in venues all over town; from a theater to a chapel and even some Heurige (wine taverns). For more info on when, where, who’s playing, and how much you’re paying, head over to the festival’s website.

This festival is about faraway cultures and oriental music. Experience sounds from Morocco, Syria, Turkey, Palestine, Egypt …and you won’t even have to leave Vienna! Bands from different countries will be on stage, along with local bands who dedicate their tunes to oriental beats.
