The husband-and-wife team, Son of the Velvet Rat, produce songs that are a mix of Chanson, Neo-Folk, and Alternative. They left Austria for good to settle in California, where they produce their music. Every song is constantly changing in sound and mood, so their live concerts are very special. This Tuesday, they’ll present ‘Ghost Ranch,’ an album inspired by the Californian desert.

On Tuesday evening, comedian David Stockenreitner will entertain you with his witty anecdotes about finally saying ‘yes’ to crime. He’s aiming to shake things up by living a life of self-enrichment and showing off a bit, which he believes he’s entitled to as someone born with a disability. The world’s ending anyway, so he figures, why not go all out? You can follow his journey and see if he makes it big in the criminal world or if it all comes crashing down.

If you’ve got that annoying friend who thinks theatre is generally a snore, drag them to an improv show. Trust us, it’ll change their tune! And if by some chance it doesn’t, you’ll still have a blast at Vienna’s English Theatre’s completely improvised evening, where audience suggestions turn into stories, songs, and scenes.

Ceramics and lingerie belong together like cold iced tea and warmer weather! Seriously though, this is shaping up to be a super fun shopping event. Swing by Soda Lingerie to snag some lovely pieces and also check out cool ceramics from Berlin-based artist Cúze.

The German trio Django 3000 is coming to B72 this Friday! As always, they will bring their Gypsy Disco Bavarian sound that will make your feet start moving of their own accord.

This Friday, get your after work drink on at the legendary location of the Sofiensäle. In a great atmosphere, there will be delicious long drinks being served up to the sounds of a live DJ. This event is perfect to congratulate yourself and friends on surviving yet another day at work. You can even go with your co-workers (or your boss) in case you always wanted to see how much of a party animal they really are.

There’s a neat flea market being hosted by Säcondhänd this Friday and Saturday. Come for the vintage fashions, home decor, and the thrill of the hunt.

Shoes and clothes from previous fashion shows, sunglasses, accessories from shootings, items from different designers, and much more to rummage for (and be happy about later) at this flea market. So only one thing left to say ‘Happy hunting!’

Well, whichever it is, the rare plants market of the botanical gardens Vienna is on again and will be happening in April. You should definitely check out this free-loving flower fair and talk plants with the many passionate stand owners selling off their green stuff (not that green stuff, cheeky).

For the first time, the poetry slam is taking place at the iconic Badeschiff, with Diana Köhle and Marina Strasser pitching in. Don’t forget to bring a piece of your own writing if you want to participate. It’s totally free to get in, and the Badeschiff is wheelchair accessible.

So, it’s that time of year. Everybody and their mother (and their father, and their uncle, and their dog) in Vienna are getting ready for the Vienna City Marathon this Sunday.

You can kick off your sporty weekend with a program organised by On, in partnership with the Vienna Running Collective. They’re promising sunrise yoga, a pasta party, DJs, tattoos, massages, and much more.

With two levels of non-stop partying, four live bands, and plenty of food and drinks, it’s going to be a night you Will. Not. For. Get! So grab your leather jacket, put on your headbanging shoes and get ready to rock!

Catch a Hamburger – we mean a person from Hamburg, not the food itself – this Saturday at Grelle Forelle along with other awesome DJs. Phace AKA Florian Harres specialises in progressive and pioneering Drum and Bass music. He is in high demand the world, so it’s cool that we can catch him in Vienna and see what all the hype is about.

The Viennese Refugee Ball takes place in one of our favorite party locations in town – the city hall! Its huge Gothic halls will host the biggest world music party around, with beats alternating from Punk to Hungarian speed-Funk, some Jazzy vibes, lots of Folklore tunes and many other weird and wonderful mixes that will get the crowd up and dancing for hours.

Qnoe from Würzburg is known for his dynamic sets and blending genres. Uncle F is sure to resonate well with fans of powerful, low-end driven music. KAT ZE adds a more experimental edge to the evening, while Blechhütte promises to deliver heavy 808 Beats. So, this is going to be a wild night at Flex.

Mon Ami is hosting a Modeflohmarkt where you can find cool digs for the new season before their summer break! Find new pieces or sell some of your own that you have no use for anymore. Have fun shopping, and don’t forget to register via mail if you wanna sell your stuff there.

It’s happening again – on the 21st of April the whole city is going to turn into a mad mass of running, sweating, red-faced people participating in the Vienna City Marathon.

You can sign up for it (there’s a half marathon at 21km, as well), or you can always join in on the sidelines watching the brave from all over the world pass by and cheer them on! The feeling of human achievement is strong on the day. You can check out the whole route here.

Time to celebrate Yiddish culture in Vienna! This year’s festival is a mix of traditional and contemporary, featuring performances by the Vienna Jewish Choir, the Vienna Klezmer Orchestra, and various other artists exploring Jewish cultural heritage. Check out their website for more details.

Listen up lovers of Viennese music – this is something for you! For over a month, you’ll have the chance to catch various live concerts as part of the Wean Hean festival.

It’s gonna take place in venues all over town; from a theater to a chapel and even some Heurige (wine taverns). For more info on when, where, who’s playing, and how much you’re paying, head over to the festival’s website.

This festival is about faraway cultures and oriental music. Experience sounds from Morocco, Syria, Turkey, Palestine, Egypt …and you won’t even have to leave Vienna! It will all come together in the form of a high brow music festival, hosted by the music venues Sargfabrik, Flex, Porgy&Bess and more. Bands from different countries will be on stage, along with local bands who dedicate their tunes to oriental beats.

A flea market is twice the fun when it takes place in the right setting. And what would complement all those vintage items more than the industrial charm of an old factory building, right?
